Mobile App Accelerator program for women in Africa that will empower women to participate and unleash their “mobile app” development potential
The Accelerator program will be a dedicated space to mentor, educate and train women to launch their apps, scale up existing apps, market their business and to develop apps in areas of market need.
The apps will be designed to address market needs, given that women developed apps are still unheard of in Africa but largely geared towards the female and youth population.
Through social media tools, through advertising in local media and in NGO/business networks.
I am already well connected in the women’s accelerator, leadership development and NGO networks both in New York and in Africa(through my work). I would have to continue networking and sharing the aims of the project hosting information events and speaking at both public and private institutions.
I am conducting participatory networking forums with individuals and groups to understand the need and potential for growth in Africa such as in Uganda,Kenya and South Africa.
A well funded accelerator program that has the means, connections and scope to increase numbers of women and girls in the mobile technology field in Africa. A space where women not only develop apps but have the mentoring to be successful business women and entrepreneurs.
